Lunenburg Community Garden

The Lunenburg Community Garden is located on the South West corner of the Lunenburg Academy National Historic Site grounds. It is the only remaining 19th century Academy building surviving in Nova Scotia. The Academy first opened on November 7, 1895 and was active as Lunenburg’s primary school until March of 2012. Now under the guidance of the Lunenburg Academy Foundation the building is home to Class Afloat, and the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance.

We are lucky to share the grounds of this historic site, located on top of “Gallows Hill.”  As we garden, we enjoy the views of historic Lunenburg while listening to the inspiring music emanating from the building.
